Live & In-Person | May 28-31, 2026

A small-group, immersive experience where you’ll work through real cases, observe live training, and develop a deeper understanding of how resource guarding actually changes.
Resource guarding is often treated as:
But in many cases…
It is far more changeable than people believe
Resource guarding is made of three interconnected elements: Obsession, Conflict, and Aggression.
If you take away either obsession or conflict, the aggression simply can't happen.
This intensive is built around a simple idea:
You don’t truly understand behavior until you see it, work through it, and evaluate it in real time.
Over 4 days, we will:

Participants are welcome to bring their dogs.
You'll see our work with our two recent resource-guarding owner-surrenders.
⬅️This is one of them!

This intensive is designed for a small group of participants who are serious about understanding and changing resource guarding:
Dog owners seeking real solutions - not just management
Trainers looking to deepen their practical and conceptual understanding
What You'll Develop
A deeper understanding of why resource guarding happens
The ability to evaluate behavior beyond surface intensity
Insight into what leads to real resolution vs. ongoing management
A clearer framework for creating safer, more stable outcomes

The safety and emotional welfare of all dogs and participants is the highest priority.
There may be situations during the event where instructors determine that the use of an aversive would be necessary for safety or productive progress in specific dog-to-dog interactions.
All owners always have the opportunity and right to limit anything done with their dog. It is always acceptable AND encouraged for owners to ask any questions and share any thoughts or concerns that they may have about anything related to their dog, or others.
If participants are not comfortable with the possibility of limited, situational aversive use, they always have the right to decline such work.
If the idea of any use of aversives in behavioral training is against your perspective of ethics, this event may not be the appropriate fit for you. However, it is extremely common that people with such a perspective come to our events and find them deeply worthwhile, without having to change their ethics.
